Alpaca Consulting Services USA offers a full range of independent and comprehensive services to all sectors of the international alpaca community and industry.

Owned and managed by Ian Watt, the service specialises in:

• Farm layout and design
• Individual animal assessment for both new and established breeders
• Complete herd assessment
• Setting of breeding goals
• Measurement of breeding plans
• Establishment and management of breeding plans
• Sire selection
• Alpaca animal syndication

and the education and training of both new and established breeders in:

• understanding fiber
• fiber assessment
• fiber classing
• understanding and using objective fiber measurements as a breeding tool
• the genetics of fiber production, and
• breeding for superior fleece

through one and two day workshops, one-on-one consultations and seminars.

Ian’s experience in the alpaca industry includes:

• 20 years as an alpaca owner and breeder
• 18 months as regional President of the South Australian region of the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA)
• 12 months as a National Committee member of the AAA
• 4 years as National President of the AAA
• 12 months as official AAA observer to the Board of the Australian Alpaca Co-operative
• Treasurer of the Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association of America

Ian has spoken at numerous shows and events in Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America, and has also conducted seminars and workshops across America in partnership with various alpaca breeders.

Alpaca Consulting USA offers a truly independent consulting service to individuals and groups, and through the more formally structured seminar and workshop events.
